One of the things that they never quite tell you is that catering for an event can be vital in crafting the overall atmosphere and style of the day. Take, for example, a themed party. A caterer like Hog Roast Hinxworth can craft a series of dishes that fit to the theme; we can have special names for dishes that help to bring the added fun out of the theme. Where it to be a rock and roll theme, as an example, then how about some rock and roast rolls?

A blatant example that might be, but the same goes for when crafting your wedding day. There are so many parts to the day, and to really make it the special day that you want then those things all have to work together. The big two, really, are your venue and your catering. Get those two working in tandem and everything else can fall into place thereafter. So, then, when the Hog Roast Hinxworth team gets a call about a wedding out at the brilliant Oak Tree Barn – a venue we have had the pleasure of working multiple times before – then we know exactly the kind of theming and dining we should be going for. A rustic venue begets a rustic style of dining. This brings the whole thing to life for guests and the bride and groom. You’re unlikely to go to a barn wedding and then feel in the mood for a fish supper; it’s much more likely that you’ll want a dining experience that matches that rustic feel.
This is what we did, then, this past weekend for Barry and Kelly’s wedding reception at Oak Tree. Hog roast Hinxworth’s wedding menu was crafted with the venue and day in mind. The obvious choice was our signature hog roast – as rustic as it gets. Made in the traditional spit style fresh on site, it looked like just another decoration in a beautifully set venue – only this is one you get to eat! Served with leafy greens, creamy slaw, tomato and mozzarella salad, roasted new potatoes, and plenty of bread rolls and wraps, it was a menu fitting for the occasion in so many ways!
