How was your bank holiday weekend? As you might expect, if you’ve been keeping along with the Hog Roast Rickmansworth socials and blogs, ours was of course spent with some stylish wedding catering. The summer wedding season threw us one more massive special day to cater for, this time for the lovely Henry and Laura, who worked along with the Hog Roast Rickmansworth team to put together an entire day of dining to see their hundred plus guests and suppliers well fed over the course of their special day.
This was a really great event to be a part of, and a fantastic one to help us close out the summer wedding season in style. Just about every part of our service was well utilised, and we had the pleasure of catering for so many wonderful guests who were each excellent with us. Our service began early, as the Hog Roast Rickmansworth servers began with welcoming guests into the reception with a welcome glass of fizz or juice before then rotating through the reception with freshly made canape platters. Our canapes are always a great way to get the party started as guests mingle and chat with something easy to eat to tide them over until the real dining. Our canapes here consisted of options of pan seared mini fillets of beef, beer battered mini fish and chip cones, roasted tomato and halloumi crostini, and chicken satay skewers with a peanut sauce.
Then came the main dinner after the traditional wedding speeches. This was a traditional set course menu with a choice of rotisserie cooked chicken with chipolata sausages and sage and onion stuffing, or a whole roasted sirloin of English beef with Yorkshire pudding and rich red wine gravy. All dishes also came with fresh seasonal vegetables and dauphinoise potatoes. This incredible menu went out to 120 guests as well as the 7 suppliers that had helped to make the day possible – as Henry and Laura had really thought of everything.
Our evening then ended with a late night buffet of comforting hog roast rolls with mac and cheese and fresh fries before the Hog Roast Rickmansworth team packed up and said goodbye to the night and the very last of our summer weddings. What a way to go out!
