Last week our Hog Roast Digswell teams were out all across the country for the big one with England taking on South Africa in the Rugby World Cup Semi-Final. Anticipation built around the country for our biggest test of the tournament, and the England team certainly managed to turn that anticipation into plenty of excitement as the team gave the current world champions a fright, taking them all the way to the final few moments of the game and just barely losing out in a final heartbreaker in the dying embers of the game. Even at Hog Roast Digswell we could barely take our eyes of the action, but neither of course could our guests who fortunately still had our teams there to serve their foods for them. You don’t have to miss a thing when we’re on hand to serve out our delicious roasts!
It wasn’t the result we were looking for, but at Hog Roast Digswell we are still proud of the efforts of every one of our teams that have been hard at work all tournament catering to various watch events. Through every try, conversion, scrum, and controversial penalty our Hog Roast Digswell teams have served delicious roasts and glorious banquets fit even for world champions all through the tournament. It’s been an incredible two months, and we’re only sorry that it couldn’t have gone on longer with the final upcoming this weekend. This final England match was a heartbreaker, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t still had an excellent time all throughout this tournament, and again last week during the semi-final. Plus, when heartbreak like that strikes it is at least comforting to know that there is a delicious hog roast awaiting you. That crisp roast texturing and tender meatiness helps to take cure the pain at least for a moment!
We have had a great response to our match day services this tournament, so it is certainly something we would like to continue for other big sporting events going forward. Plus, we still at least have the final this Saturday to go out on one last big Hog Roast Digswell banquet! The home nations might not be there anymore, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still celebrate the tournament with some great foods in great company!
