Get your Christmas music on and your tree up it’s finally December! There can be no escaping the festive season here at Hog Roast Hertford and with our mouth-watering Christmas menus we are on a mission to convert even the grumpiest scrooges into the festive spirit!
This weekend Hog Roast Hertford had been asked along to the local primary schools annual Christmas fair. At school, the children had been busy prepping stalls, games and competitions for the fair which would, of course, involve a visit from a certain special someone…
Our team of Hog Roast Hertford caterers were up bright and early to get a head start on the days catering. We had been given a stall in the school playground from which to cater. After setting up our handy gazebo we quickly got the hog onto roast to warm us up a little on this chilly morning. As the hog takes several hours to become beautifully tender, we would be able to keep warm throughout the event and no doubt would draw some customers in as well.
As the meat takes the longest to cook, we had time to browse the stalls inside the school. They had everything from your classic tombola and raffles to a lovely Christmas toy swap for the local children’s hospital. Already a queue had formed outside year 4s classroom which had been expertly transformed into Santa’s grotto and the queues of excited children were only getting longer by the minute.
Returning outside we put our finishing touches onto our Hog Roast Hertford feats and signalled the school headmaster to ring the bell to let staff and students know the food was ready. Luckily, we were more than prepared for the mass crowd that formed and handed out lots of our delicious Hog Roast Hertford rolls. Once the crowd had died down, we still had plenty of food leftover and so were able to keep serving throughout the event for the late arrivals and those who fancied an extra serving. What a lovely day we had!
