Winter weddings offer up a different kind of experience that your more typical summer and spring wedding, but at Hog Roast Harpenden we cannot help but admire the added bit of magic that a winter wedding seems to possess. There is just something about the darker evenings and the gathering of lots of people that seems to sparkle a little more, especially when you begin to add our delicious winter warming foods into the mix!
We had the opportunity to do just that a couple of weeks ago with the wonderful wedding reception for David and Ophelia held at Court Farm. A night that truly exhibited the magic of the winter wedding, David and Ophelia had their evening reception set up under a beautiful marquee tent. It give the night this air of isolated beauty with little else around in the surrounding trees and field, other than of course our Hog Roast Harpenden kitchen set up where we served all of our foods to guests that stepped out of the marquee. With the lights glowing in the dark from the marquee tent it looked like an incredible set up, and is something you could really only achieve in a winter wedding where the nights draw in earlier. If the prospect of it being potentially being cold out where to put any guests off, then our sizzling roasts would put that right in an instant as our selection of finely pulled pork from our staple hog roast, our BBQ pulled jackfruit, our famed sage and onion stuffing, our golden, bubbling crackling, our herb dressed new potatoes, and our most delicious homemade salads and slaws could warm up even the most freezing of winter wedding nights.
While guests mingled and danced the night away under the marquee, our time kept the hot foods coming before heading off late on. It was a truly exceptional night all told and one we won’t be forgetting in a hurry. We love our summer weddings, but nights like David and Ophelia’s may well be enough to convert Hog Roast Harpenden to sole winter wedding supporters!
