Serving up Winter Weddings at Hog Roast Bayford

Hog Roast StevenageThe commute into the Hog Roast Bayford office this morning was certainly much breezier today than it has been in the last few weeks which can only mean that winter is officially here and here to stay. That’s okay by us however, because at Hog Roast Bayford we have had plenty to warm us up lately with your events.

One that we would like to highlight is an excellent wedding in the final weekend of October. This was the stunning wedding ceremony and reception of Claire and Jon held at The Barn in Tea Green. It is an incredible venue that has seen a once traditional barn be repurposed into a modern event space with outdoor patios, a veranda space, and the incredible glass dining hall of the re-visualised barn itself. On what was a colder night, The Barn did well to keep us all warm and comforted – with a little helping hand from the delicious, comforting winter warmers of Hog Roast Bayford, of course!

For Claire and Jon we made sure to bring plenty of colour to their winter wedding in the hopes that it would shine through any grey or darker weather. Our vibrant antipasti platters, fortunately, do just that! With excellent reds from our finely sliced Italian meats and stuffed peppers, contrasting greens with our olives, oils, and salad leaves, and a good mix of yellows from our finest Italian cheeses, the platter table pops immediately when guests enter into the wedding reception. All could be mopped up with our artisanal breads, too.

While they were enjoying that, we kept hard at work in the kitchen putting the finishing touches to our staple hog roast for the main dinner. It’s a must for any wedding, and on a cold winter’s night it hits even better. Bursting with tender pork flavour and a fine roast texturing, this one went down a storm with guests! Just to add even more winter goodness to the wedding before the Hog Roast Bayford team called it a night, we had light and refreshing tarte au citron dessert for Jon and Claire’s guests!

Spitting Pig HertfordshireA truly wonderful night, and we wish Jon and Claire all the best in marriage!
