Every summer, Joyce’s town hosts an open garden event, where residents can sign up to add their garden to a walking route for others to enjoy. The event grows every year, with more guests and more gardens getting involved. It is always a lot of fun for both sides and is a great way to boost community spirit. Since this year was set to have the biggest turnout yet, Hog Roast Knebworth was hired to cater for the occasion. Our menu would hopefully attract some extra guests and be a great way to boost the event further. For the catering, it was decided that our classic hog roast would be ideal, with a
few additional dishes included.
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Knebworth team arrived at the town hall in the morning and began to prepare for the midday serving time. We started by slow-roasting the hog and allowing it to cook to perfection for around five hours. Once ready, the succulent pork was carved and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Additionally, we served marinated chicken kebabs, veggie sausages, homemade chips, and a selection of tasty salad dishes, to create a varied and hearty lunch menu. Overall, our catering was a great addition to the event and definitely had plenty for everyone to enjoy.
